Hello and Welcome,
My name is Randy Perretta. I've been a musician, composer, arranger and recordist throughout my adult life. I've gathered a few of my recordings old and new, and put them up here for your enjoyment along with videos from a gathering I played at in 2011 and a festival I played at in 2022.
Music has been with me all of my life. Through every up and down, around every corner and down every highway. I'v led an eventful life and each note I play reflects that in some way. I hope that in the light of those reflections, that you can find some of the meaning I ascribe to them and most importanly, be entertained.
Enjoy...

Audio/Music Files (See bottom section for videos):
Below you'll find links to the tunes.
Some are live, recorded with two bands that I played with, Red Wing in Washington
State (Early 90's) and The Crossroads Band in Alaska (Mid 90's). Other pieces
are classical and jazz compositions of my own as well as a pre-mastered studio cut of Big
River from 2009, a bit of Dylan and a jazz sendup of an old Christmas favorite. All are in mp3 format. In a holiday Aeolian mode, here's a 2012 instrumental jazz arrangment of my own arrangement of the English Chritsmas Carol God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen Dylan meets Dvorak here in this arrangement
of I Shall Be Released recorded on the
mountain in the fall of 2010. The piano and bass are still scratch loops. Maybe
someday I'll replace them and clean up the compression and EQ. Here's an American classic recorded
in the studio Nov. 2009... Big
River (Shades of Johnny) La Primavera Adagio Sera I wrote this in April 2011. It's
called Adagio for a Sping Evening.
It features an African Kora backed up by piano, cello, strings and finally trumpet. From the Past... Recorded with Red Wing in Snoqualmie Falls, Washington Video: Lastly, here's some video from two events spaced widely in time but not in style: Note that these files will open autmatically if you're using safari. Arrangements...
Classical and jazz compositions of my own:
Dobro Duet Recorded in Gold Bar Washington. I went out back to the studio with my Dobro in hand and came back with this.
Goodbye For Now Recorded in Alaska. The violins and piano are parting. The guitar officiating as a sort of Greek Chorus.
Sorrow This is what you write two weeks after nearly losing your life.
Knik Sunrise I lived for six years along the Knik River in Alaska. Again harsh and beautiful. I hope this does it justice.
Terana Written for the wedding of my friends Terry and Lana Carlson.
The Reunion Song - After all these years right?
Liberation - Some songs just feel like their title.
I Can See Clearly Now
The Blues Overtook Me
Recorded with The Crossroads Band in Wasilla Alaska
Imagine this...
It's Friday night. You're driving up the Glenn Highway in Alasksa about a quarter of the way from Anchorage to Fairbanks.
Ahead you see light in the forested darkness. It's a bar in the middle of nowhere. Outside is a flashing sign that says "Triple B Tavern - Appearing Tonight, the Crossroads Band. "You pull into the parking lot and park. When you open the door of the car, the chill hits you. It's somewhere south of 30 below. From the tavern comes the muffled sound of bar noise and live music. It's the band's third set - the power set. You hear the lyrics as you walk toward the entryway. "Yeah In back of the Roadhouse they got them bungalows..." True in the song and true here. For $25, the bartender will give you the keys to one of them. The bears and the cold are your problem. You open the door and step in. Wrecker the rotweiler approaches. Deciding that you're acceptable, he goes back and lays down. You walk toward the bar. The music and noise are everywhere. The tavern is in full Friday night swing. You immerse yourself into the ocean of it...
